Hi everyone,

I'm about to install a stage 1 kit and am confident about installing everything except the new needle. Does anyone have any resources or guides I could follow? I took apart an old HS4 and learnt how to change the needle in that, is the HIF44 roughly the same? And lastly is there anything else I should be aware of when changing the needle? I bought in newly reconditioned from aseriesspares at the start of the year so it should be in good order

Cheers,
James

It s exactly the Same.
Only changing the Spring is slightly different. (Little circlip at the top of the piston wich you need to clip off)

Couldn't be easier. Remove the dashpot via the 3 screws holding it to the carb body. The needle is simply held in place by a retaining screw, remove this, pull old needle out, put in new needle and retighten screw. Make sure you fit the small spring to the base of the needle to.

Phil.
