Hi guys,

Im very soon to lose my storage space and as such the car may have to go.  Its been a labour of love for the past 8 years and ive spent a lot of time and effort restoring it after I found it in a barn.

Ive built it with the idea of going historic rallying in it in the future and have built it based on the works cars.

Its a 1968 Mk 1 Morris Mini Super Deluxe in Old English white.

Its had new sills, floors, front wings, front panel, bonnet, and it has a double skinned fibreglass bootlid

it has a had a full respray and most of the chrome parts have been replaced.

Engine Spec

1293 cc A series ( not A plus ) engine  10:9:1 compression

AE21253 pistons

balanced innocenti rods

hardened and balanced crank

aea 648 camshaft

duplex timing gears

Brand new MED lightned clutch kit/ flywheel etc.

Howley stage 4 race head.

Twin 1/1/2 Su carbs (bg needles) with LCB and Sportex rally exhaust system

Fletcher alloy 2 core rad,

Aldon red points distributor

Hi torque starter

Transmission

SCCR (ST ratio) remote gearbox with 1:1 straight cut drops

minispeed x pin diff

QL5000 UJs

3:765 final drive

brakes

Cooper s 7.5" discs to the front

Works style drilled spacered hubs to the rear

Goodridge Braided hoses

Suspension

On its original hydrolastic with St uprated bumpstops ( not dropped a cm in 8 yrs)

Uprated tie rods and competion bushes

Interior

retro black buckets.   Interior is presentable but could do with some attention, I built it to go rather than for show,  has a new carpet and motolita wood rim sterring wheel.  its a new additon so not in photos.  Also now has works style knee pads and door lock pads in red.   Has a Smiths 8000rpm rev counter

other trick bits

works style perspex headlamp guards

4 x Lucas 700 spot lamps ( not yet fitted)

Lucas boot mounted reverse lamp

I have all the original parts ( seats, 850 engine, brakes etc)

Had it tuned recently and the guy said its the quickest mini he's been in.   Ill be gutted to see it go unless I can sort something but I would like a fair idea on the value

thanks

Rob

Would be interesting to know what sort of money you are expecting for this Mini?

I really don't know, I'm thinking it's probably somewhere in the £8k region but I could be way off, it's definitely worth more to me , and I don't want to get rid but unfortunately my impending garage loss may mean I have to, I don't want to undersell it if it has to go

If this car keeps what you wrote I guess too 7-8 K is a fair price.

I would say £7k to £8k.

It will make a superb historic rally car and that engine is acceptable for historic events. All the mods are 'period mods' so are fine and won't devalue the car at all.

But you need to advertise it in places where rally competitors will see it - 'Old Stager' for example.

Does it have any other rally parts with it? For example a sump guard.

Are the brake, fuel, battery and hydro lines run inside the car as that is one thing a rally car needs and it is a big job if not already done?

I've got sumpguard, 4 x lucas 7" spot/fog lamps, early style works dash, I've not routed any of the pipework through the car yet etc, it was on the list of things that I wanted to do, I'm still hoping to sort some storage out
