I've owned my 57/08 cooper s JCW for nearly 3 months and can't get to grips with the oil use.
It's done 62k miles, only 2000 of which by me and I've already gone through around 4 litres of oil! Is this normal? I was told it could use around 1 litre to every 1000 miles - but the same person who told me this told me to dip and check the oil with the engine HOT!?! I don't - I always check it cold in a level surface.
I'm using 5w30 fully synthetic. Topped it up to th maximum level - 360 miles later it's just above the minimum! I've never once seen a spot of oil on the ground after moving it so it's not got a leak!

Wrong forum pal this is old minis that do burn oil pretty regularly. If it's a JCW could well be burning oil usually turbo oil seals with that kind of consumption. It's not normal

Some classic Mini owners on here do also own Modern MINI's but you will probably get more responses on the TotalMINI forum link below:-

There are quite a few people on here who own MINIs but you'll probably find an answer quicker on a dedicated MINI forum
