hi i want to change my 12x5 revolution wheels as they are looking pritty old and tired and was wondering which wheels to get revolutions 12x6 or revolutions 13x7 wheels.

I would be going for the 13x7 wheels for the looks from the wider stance, but would a 12x6 wheels give good looks as well.

Do the 13x7 inch wheels effect the handling of my mini due to wieght and size are the 12x6 wheels better for handling.

i wont be doing this straight away as i need more saving but i need to know how much to save first lol.

thanks a lot Lee

I have 13x7 black superlite deep dish with yoko a539 tires and I love them.

They may be for sale soon too though as I am thinking of going to 10 x 6 wellers or maybe 10 x 7 force racing. :proud:

depends.... in some cases you will find the following:

aquaplaning on wet surfaces in rain, tramlining, unintentionally finding grooves in roads and the wheels following them like it's on tracks.

in all cases you will find:

decreased acceleration, wheel bearing wear accelerated, heavier steering. bigger tyre bills.

A lot of people are now reverting back to the far superior 'go cart like' handling characteristics, good looks and running costs of the wheels the mini was designed to be run on, the humble ten incher. Miglias use them too.

If you want your mini to stick to the tarmac like sh*t does to a blanket, get 10's and get some decent rubber on them.

i had 12x6 minilights and now have 10x6 wellers i'd say overall grip was better from the 12 inch wheels but it didnt give much warning before it broke loose and started to understeer with the tens there is so much more feel as the sidewalls are massive just seems to give more feedback to the driver and i feel more confident of how far i can push it before it slides i wanted a bit of an old school racer look too

i would deffo have 10 inch wheels over any size and my fave are mb racing wheels.
But a) i could afford them and
b ) i have 8.4inch discs at the front. too much money to convert to 7.5 so :w00t:

oh and supermotolee your mini looks real nice if thats it in ur dp. true retro. lol

I guess it all depends what you want from your wheels. If it's just looks you're after, then 13s would definitely give you the low-profile look that's quite popular at the moment, and with 13s you get more options too. 13s are probably better for MPG too because you've got a larger diameter wheel, and therefore more distance per revolution. You'd also potentially get a higher top speed by the same token, though that also depends on the setup of the rest of the car.

12s can look pretty awesome too, mind. I happen to have some 12x5 Revolution RFX wheels on my Mini, which I think look superb. They're a bit wider than standard wheels, so they've got a wider stance on the road, and the alloy look makes them look bigger too, so although it's not really low profile tyres, they look nice and sporty.

I can't vouch for performance differences, as I've only ever driven on 12s, but I've heard from various sources that 13s are less responsive when it comes to handling. The larger diameter means the gyroscopic effects are slightly more, so it takes slightly more effort to turn the wheels. Weight is another factor, and acceleration too as Retro_10s mentioned.

So it really depends on what you want the wheels to do. If you want them to look nice and make the ride a little more comfortable on the motorway, then 13s are probably a good option. If you're more into throwing your car into corners then you're probably better off with something smaller.

ok thanks for that just out of interest how much would it cost to go from 12 inch to 10 inch wheels and is much work involved with swaping the brakes and all that.

thanks again Lee
