Hi, stupidly I've bolted my roll cage without checking if the original belts fit, which they don't!

The cage is as far back as it can possibly go and i'm a good 7-10mm short for getting the drivers side inertia reel mounted in the standard place.

Now i'm reluctant to mount it anywhere else, but is there any other solutions you can think of (smaller inertia reel perhaps?) that would allow me to get a belt in?

The gap between the mount and cage bar is approx. 55mm. The standard reel is approx. 65mm.

Thanks!

Since a roll cage is for competition it is normal to have to fit FIA Approved farness belts. These are no problem to fit as there are points at which they fit and meet the requirements. Some cages have a seat belt attachment bar across the centre behind the front seats.

So the answer is full harness belts. It is unlikely inertia reel belts will fit properlywith a cage installed.

as above why do you want inertia belts?

what seats are you using?

if buckets then standard belts are dangerous.

Just wondering why anyone would fit a roll cage and not also fit proper bolted down bucket seats and full harness belts.

With a roll cage the car is, effectively, a 2-seater as the rear seats are not really capable of safe use.
