I have fitted an in line servo to my 1970 mini as i have fitted twin discs and 1300 engine the problem is all the breaks lock on when i put the pipe from the inlet manifold to tje servo it is a cooper.s after market servo what do i need to look for when striping it down

Don't strip the servo yet. First check that there is no possibility of residual pressure in the brake system, i.e. the pedal is hanging free on the master cylinder push rod and not exerting the slightest pressure on it. Shims are available for going beneath the master cylinder if required.

 

In any case a DIY servo rebuild is not a good idea. Best left to the professional reconditioners. You may not be able to get all the parts. I think Big Redd do servos, if not there are others.

 

In any case if you bought this as an aftermarket item the ssller is entirely liable to put things right and you should return it to them, without messing about with it.

 

If it was bought second hand, well, caveat emptor. Personally, I never, ever buy any second hand hydraulic parts, unless they are going to be fully rebuilt.
