I am in the process of having my 1993 ('L' Reg) Mini Cooper re-sprayed and I have been asked if I want John Coopers signature on the bonnet stripes at no extra cost. I don't know what to do as my car never came as standard with the signature, what would other people do? I'm not sure if it would look wrong / unoriginal on mine. 🤔

Well I would not have any on mine.

Look at some pictures on the Internet and see what you think.

As above, if you like it go for it. I'm not a fan of them even though mine had them from original...

Does it matter whether it was original or not, Mini's have always been modified to a greater or lesser degree anyway and some bonnet signature stripes are not going to affect the value one way or another......as said its your car do what you like the look of best.

Personally I don't think that they look all that great but if it is something that you like and matches what else you're doing with the car then go for it.

It's a personal choice. Don't be put off by the fact it didn't come with them as standard, unless the car is going to kept 100% standard.

Signature stickers are available for a few quid. If you want some you can always fit them yourself later

they come off quite easily, so if don't like them it's not the end of the world.

Dont get hung up on originality, at the end of the day, does it really matter what other people think? If you like it, do it.

I would ask them not to put the bonnet stickers on just yet as the paint will still be soft, if you decide you dont wan them and start to take them off, the paint will come off with them too....

The only Mini to have John Cooper signatures as standard (on the bonnet stripes) was the 1990 Cooper RSP and there were only 1650 of them. Signatures were a Rover option for all others.

It's a matter of personal taste... I'm not a fan of them, but it's up to you! So few cars are original, unless that's what you're striving for I'm sure nobody would give it a second thought. Especially on the later cars.
