hi, I am using a Simonbbc powerspark 45d leccy dizzy and coil, 2 1/2 yrs ago, the car is my daily, as for CR, i have put the engine number (12A2BGO3)  in a de-coder and that came up, not sure how else to tell what it is,

Hi there, you say you have a big valve head fitted, do you know what size the chambers are?

What's your reason for having the dizzy re curved?

Recurved are £65 inc return shipping to UK mainland.

even after a rolling road sesh in january (SMMC), although that was with a TwinHs2 set-up, he never pulled through all the gears and rev ranges smoothly, bob weights come to mind and not sure whether the powerspark dizzy who was bought original for the engine with a standard cam, can cope with the Evolution1 cam

further, although the valve clearances are set as inlets 12 thou and exhausts at 14 thou, cylinders 2 and 3 have a light rev drop when removing lead one at the time in comparison with cylinder 1 and 4. compression is at 180 on all 4. new leads and plugs.

I your opinion, with the given facts above will recurving be the solution to eliminate the problems, further how long will I have to 'loose' the use of  the car, and how do I proceed .....?

We can establish very quickly whether your dizzy is giving the right curve by you measuring it with a strobe light. Can usually turn dizzies around in a week.

Ok thank you, I have found a 65D metro leccy (Plastic box on the side of it) today with coil.....i did a swap with the powerspark one and runs smooth for now, will check the curves tmz with the strobe on 1000-1500-2000 etc after a good run and will let you know, we can discuss the findings then and decide what will be the best plan of action.

Could be if I knew what the full advance point was, you need to keep going. I need to know the curve right the way up the rev range.

Yes indeed curve too long and slow. It needs doing. Needs to be around 30 maximum at 4krpm and about 10degrees static at idle and about 20 at 2krpm.

I don't know what your engine spec is, but unless you have a very wide open combustion chamber, I can't see that curve suiting any A series engine!  Agree completely with AC.
