Well hello there,
Thought I'd introduce myself rather than lurk quietly in the corner, I'm a 19 year old student from northern ireland researching buying my first car, know very little about minis and looking for some advice from all of you amazing people who do.
Am I right in thinking that when it comes to coopers in terms of comfort and reliability I'm probably best sticking with a post 97 rover? what's worth looking out for, what's worth avoiding? A friend advised me to look everywhere for rust, which makes sense, but i'm assuming that pretty much every mini has some, so where are the worst and not so bad places?
Finally what sort of money should I be expecting to pay? Have seen a couple on ebay and autotrader between 3 and 4k, am considering this:

could anyone tell me what they think?
If you've actually managed to read this far then I thank you and look forward to reading your replies.
Ben

unfortunatley, Mini's and rust go hand in hand!! especially the later cars.. you are probably better or going for a car that has been owned by an enthusiast who has looked after the body shell and engine. You can then sort out your own interior by buying seats from anyone in any of the mini magazines or on ebay.... or the for sale section on this forum, which is a great place to pick up a bargain.

Thanks for the replies, does anyone have any thoughts on the car on ebay that I posted above? Am seriously considering bidding on it.
