Hello,

First, sorry if I make some mistakes on my English speaking but I'm from France ! :shy:

So I'm planning of putting some extra parts on my mini MPI.

I know that the best value part is a stage 3 head !

But I want parts that I can install by myself.

Actually my mini MPI configuration is :

KN air filter in the box,

twin box RC40 (with the CAT) mild steel fo the middleand the back box model millenium 2.25 stainless steel.

So I want to know the gain of each part on performance or acceleration (pros/cons) :

For the LCB maniflow :

http://www.maniflow....56&product=1090  part LM003I

or http://www.maniflow....56&product=1362  part LM003ISII  (a new STAGE 2 LCB ???)

For The alloy throttle body 52mm made by S.U Burlen ABF637 :

http://sucarb.co.uk/...body-prfmc.html

Or putting a Hi Lift Rocker made by Minispares C-AHT436 :

http://www.minispare...c/C-AHT436.aspx

Thanks for your opinions and help  if you have tested these parts and sawl improvement in the drive.

Small gains with the lcb, I noticed the car pull a bit better.
No gains what so ever with a larger throttle body
Not tried the rockers but small gains at the top of the Rev range apparently, general opinion is that it's not worth it, I would put the money from the throttle body and rockers towards a head

just about nothing for any of them as you are not changing the most restrictive part.

Thanks for the first response and opinions. (Fast Ivan and Nicklouse)

Nicklouse : You talk about restrictive part :

The ECU (but It can use to maximum 90bhp)

Or the CAT ?

or something helse ?

on an MPi, change the cam and the head, nothing else. unless you change the ECU.

oh, and the flywheel and the final drive ratio.

Is this the same general advice also for a SPi too.....?

Change the head and cam and get the ECU remapped...?

Sorry to spam your thread eric.sen... your English is much better than my French :)

Decat, 3.2 diff (MPi's were mapped  with this diff ratio), + the above,  head, flywheel, cam,  i've gone for the sc injection kit too to remove the restrictiveness of the factory injection setup.

OK thanks for the advice,

I think I will try to find a second hand head stage 2 or 3,

or try to find somebody or somewhere where they are able to do the head work.

On my MPI it's the stock ignition leads and new NGK BPR6E spark plugs.

Don't sure if new special ignition leads helps.   Realy ???

But some peoples said the Champion spark plugs are better than the NGK... Realy ???

I would consider a CAM change too. SW5i from Swiftune is a good choice.

I was JUST about to post a thread asking to the 1.5 lift rockers, i'm really considering them for my car.

I got the K&N filter element and the stage 2 maniflow LCB for my SPI two weeks ago, and i'm really happy with it. Although i must say i wonder if the normal LCB manifold would have been a better choice for a standard engine. But i'm really satisfied with how the car runs with the manifold, i would say it's kind of smoother somehow.

I'm also wondering what the next step is for mine, so i'm listing :)
