An air lock wouldn't explain a water leak. Water will heat up without any flow, given time. If you've isolated the heater matrix you've removed a means of it losing heat.

Put new pump on, new stat, new bottom hose f!used rad again.. what more is there!

Oil is fine. I'm just hoping that if i stick it all back together with new hoses then that'll do the trick. There's only so many things it could be?

The core of the rad could be blocked. If the wrong coolant mixture is used rust will build up blocking the matrix. You can flush till you are blue in the face and it still won't clear.

I'll put it together and see what's what, guess if it's rad then that's probably the easiest thing of the lot to change. Thanks
