Reassembly of a previously 'supplied in boxes' mini is raising some questions, can anyone help with words or photos please?

Where does the carb HS4 fuel overflow pipe route and where does it mount to?

There is a breather pipe (on a can) on  the valve chest cover and also one on the air cleaner and one on the carb base flange, do these all connect together? Surprised to see an air filter point and one on the carb. Hose in box is a single pipe !!

Many thanks

Would help to know the year, as carb and breather details vary quite a bit over the twenty plus years these were produced.

Sorry, it is a 1989 1000 auto with an HS4. Looking at images of engine bays it appears that the circular air cleaner that fits over the carb (with the carb in the hole in the middle) has an unused breather connection on the plastic outer edge. If it is not used that solves my problem, connect valve chest to carb base with one hose??

Would still like a photo of the metal fuel overflow mount and route though...........

The Float Bowl Overflow would connect to the Charcoal Canister, or just vent to atmosphere.

The Oil Sparator on the Tappet Cover connects to the CCV Port on the Carb, that's the one that's on the opposite side of the Carb from the Throttle Cable, about 5/16" - 8 mm in diameter and is angled up at about 45 degrees.

The 'breather' on the Air Filter Box is usually plugged up and does nothing.

I'll see if I can find a diagram and post it up later.

This is the complete Evaporative Control System. Your Mini may not have quite all this plumbing;-

Ignoring the Air Filter fitted to this Carb, this shows the CCV Port

Thanks for all your help (again !) and the diagram. I had figured the spout on the original air cleaner case was a 'spare' and it seems British Leyland left it largely unblanked!

With regard to the carb fuel overflow, I don't (as you assumed) have all the flow and return and charcoal canister. What I do have is an overflow outlet on the carb and about 20 inches of shaped metal pipe which looks like it needs to be fed down the back of the front subframe, well away from the exhaust and has a tag on it for mounting to a 1/4 inch bolt. I need a photo to show where this fits as I have done all manner of 'wire puzzle' tricks and it won't fit to align with the carb overflow outlet.

Thanks again  - there will be more questions when the wiring loom goes in !!!!
