I read different opinions on how many clutch straps to fit on a high power / high torque engine. If you fit one you risk stretch, if you fit three (as recommended by Minispares) it can increase pedal pressure and increase thrust washer wear. What's the concensus?

Fit two, it's more than enough.

 

You can fit 3, but you need to compensate for it by shortening the posts on the backing plate and likely adjusting the thickness of the stand off spacers on the flywheel.

Also, the straps only have very slight effect on pedal pressure, probably so little that you will never notice.
