So I've been looking into buying my first car for far too long, and last week finally decided that a classic Mini is the way to go!

I don't really know what to look out for or what to avoid, so I'm basically seeking some general advice on my first jump into the mini world.

I'd be using the car as my daily drive but maybe for the odd hill climb & classic rally/tour. So would the 1275 engine be preferential?

Also, I've found a Mini Equinox 1275 for auction not too far away from me - https://www.swva.co....i-equinox-1996/

I was wondering if anyone here had any thoughts on whether this might be a good potential buy?

I'm based in Cornwall with a budget of around £2500.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Harry

It looks ok from the pictures BUT you need to get up close and personal with it.

Rust is the biggest thing on any mini. Mechanical parts are straight fwd. So look for filler, look to see if it has oversills fitted ( do a search on here for oversills and you will see what I'm on about)
