20 questions finished on the telly even before the Mini came along...
The slots would make sense to fit over differing PCD studs, 4 of 'em suggests wheels/hubs. Would the "cup" give clearance for a hub nut? That leave you looking for a reason to put a hex head on a wheel axis -, drive or measuring torque? Skimming discs on the car, measuring a limited slip diff??? Two of 'em makes sense for the latter.

must be wheel / pcd related ?
I should imagine it's universal 4 stud hence the slots ?
or just something home made by unknown , to confuse us ?
