Hello - New to the forum.

I have recently purchased a 1999 cooper MPI.

The sidelights work ok, but when I switch to full beam I get high beam (fogs). The fog light switch on the dashboard appears to have no effect when switched on/off, other than the switch lighting going on/off.

Having read some similar posts, I guess my first bet should be to check the wiring behind the front grill.

Any other thoughts? Anyone had a similar issue?

Thanks,

The fog light switch will probably switch the rear fog light on and off.

Check the wiring thoroughly, but also ensure it's not just the bulbs

So it turns out that I was being a dip-stick.

After reading the manual, I realised that I simply needed to flick the light lever back fully to switch it out of high beams.

Thanks for looking/commenting.
