Brake Lights Not Working

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a mk2 mini cooper but on the drive home my wife who was behind told me my brake lights

were not working, on arriving home i checked the wiring and the bulbs and also the earth wires, and i'm a bit

stumped!  could anyone give me any ideas please?

Try the switch behind the brake pedal...sometimes the wire has come off...look at the easy fix first...

Your car is probably on single line brakes, so the switch will be on the subframe, drivers side, where the brake lines split to go to the caliper and round to the other side. To check that the brake lights work, un plug the two spade connectors on the switch and connect them together with the ignition on, the brake lights should come on. If they do, its the switch, if they dont, its something else
