Just reading through this as I'm in a similar boat. Red dots fitted front and standard rear. I've got a quaife ATB diff fitted and they don't work as an LSD if you have zero grip on one wheel like a plate diff will. Unfortunately mine is lifting the inside front so it starts to feel almost like clutch slip. I was considering a rear ARB to try and pin the front down more, but one i disconnect easily on a wet day. Thoughts?

Make sure your inner front wheels can droop enough. And regard the lack of drive being a control mechanism to stop you going over.

What size wheels and rubber?

The car is pretty low so it's a long way off going over. In the video it's 12s front with A539s and 10s rear on A048s. I'll soon be 10s all round once I've converted the front brakes.

When building a race car the only way is to book track time and do appropriate testing with different configurations, comparing lap times against different settings. That is really the only way to get the car in a condition which suits you best.

Make sure you have someone with you who can record the settings used against your actual lap times during each session. You may need several sessions to optimise it for your driving style. Bear in mind that different tracks can require some small changes to configuration and, indeed, the final drive ratio may need changing if you want to be really competitive on different tracks.

Best thing initially is to talk with other competitors in similar cars and find out what they are running. Sneak a look at the quickest car(s) ans see what suspension, wheels and tyres they are using to get the best lap times.

Watched it on a PC.

I am more concerned about set up rather than buying more stuff.

You say you have lowered it. Have you set the corner weights? If yes did you set them with a suitable mass to represent the driver?

If no you are not giving the diff much chance to do what it should.

If you haven't then adding ARBs will not help one bit.

No I've never had it anywhere near corner weights - need to find someone who knows how to set them up and has the kit!
