Found an oil leak under the car. Dont know what section of Haynes to start looking in.

The leak is coming from where the gear selector rod enters the gear box. Is this a common leak area?

Is there a seal than can perish there or is it a sign of gear box failure on the way.

If it is a seal what involved in replacing, ie is it a gear box out job or can it be done in situ?

please tell me its easy to rectify :proud:

If it did I didn't spot it, I must of been too excited at getting my first mini.

Is it an easy job, and how long will it take an average DIY mini owner to complete?

just disconnect the rod from the selector part near the gearbox.

you just need to knock out the roll pin and it will come off.

look in HBOL i think it actually shows how to fit one of these.

Also make sure that you do not already have one of these fitted because fitting 2 will make it almost impossible to select gears
