In need of a little help!

My door hinge panel is rotten and I'm looks for advice on parts required and pointers on how to carry out the repair.

i have ordered the 2 parts attached and I'm wondering if I need to use both or just the one because it looks like the hinge area is made of 2 plates?

If I do need both obviosly I will cut out the wheel arch section first but will this give me access to the other part inside or do I need to remove part of the door frame to gain access.

Also, I have no idea how it goes together so any installation guide would be greatly appreciated.
