Hi everyone.

I'm thinking of putting dynamat type stuff inside my MPI and am looking some advice after I've just finished the floorpan and about to fit a decent new carpet please -

1. Where all should I cover? Was looking at the floorpan and front bulkhead. Doing inside the rear quarters, heel board, boot area worth the cost? I had the inside of the front door skins done.
2. Based on above question, how much do I need? Was thinking about 7m.
3. Anyone know where it can be bought at a half sensible price?
4. What's the best product or should I stick with original dynamat?

Thanks everyone.

Silent coat is cheap and cheerful, they do it in 2mm or 4mm. I have used the 2mm everywhere in my mini, I brought two 40 sheet packs you could cover the big areas with 1 pack if needed. I also added 10mm CCF and 2mm MLV on top of the silent coat, should sound like a morgue when running.

I'm looking at doing the same thing at the moment, been advised by quite a few people to use Fatmat instead as it's basically the same product but abit easier on the wallet compared to dynamat

I've just bought a bunch of Silent Coat after reading recommendations on here. Got it from Sound Deadening Shop via ebay - they had offers on last weekend, but prices still competitive even without that. Eg:

Useful info on their website too : http://www.deadening...uk/pages/advice

Haven't installed it yet (car still at paint shop) but expecting to see (hear?) improvements!

I've used the above silent coat pack on my car, used the whole pack on it, if you know someone that also want a pack or what 2 packs then they'll do a discount ;D

I also used a whole box of silent coat. Did the floor, bulkhead, door skins (1 each door) and a little more. I then used closed cell foam over the top. No more rattles - it's on my thread.

Not used it on the mini but this stuff was very effective in my Minor and campers. Not nice and shiny like Dynamat but it works and it's cheap
