Hello all.I have a quick question about the front suspension lubrication points. I have located the two front and back of the swivel hub and the upper suspension arm as described in the Haynes manual.
I have also found this one on the upright (see picture) which I cannot get the grease gun into. I removed both nipples and neither look like they've ever had grease through them. Is it worth fitting 45 degree nipples as they're a pig to get at.

Yes its definitely worth fitting 45 degree nipples and once fitted take every opportunity to grease them.

45 degree nips are fine if it makes life easier, bear in mind it may take a bit of fettling to get them to point in the right direction. the one in the piccy is on a Hi-Lo to keep the threads from seizing - It's non standard and non critical.

Thanks guys. I take it when you say its for lubricating threads, it's the threads for adjusting the ride height?

Actually for that one, I wouldn't bother. I doubt you'll get any grease in to it. Once they are 'loaded' the grease doesn't come out like the other joints as nothing moves in there, and even when making routine adjustments, no grease of any consequence will come out.

In my Wife's Moke, I grease the bolts on the Hilos when I first fitted them and 18 years later, they were fine, up to the time I removed them when it under went it's last overhaul.

The nipple on the trumpet is to grease the threads of the bolt which adjusts ride height. These will be early hi los or adjustaride type kit. Most hi lo kits dont have the grease nipple these days.
