Need some help. After a run of about 12 miles, If i stop the engine it will not restart for a good 20 minutes. I have replaced the dizzy cap and the electonic ignition module.

To start with the engine refuses to fire, then after a while it goes to fire but cut's out strat away. When it finally restarts it's as if there was nothing wrong with it?

If anyone can shed some light please let me know.

Thanks. :proud:

It's along shot but check you tappet clearence.

I've heard of a situation where they were too tight and the valves weren't closing fully when hot.

If any thing i would say the tappet clearence needs cheching because they are noisy, complete opposite to being too tight but thatnks all the same for the info. As for timing it was done at the start of the year (rolling road).

ive had a simular issue in the past with hanor it was a worn float taper in the float bowl not holding the fuel pressure back.
when you cut the engine i let the fuel through into the inlets untill the pressure had reduced and that was enough to hinder warm/hot startng

i replaced it with a new part and i had no further issues

also check its not runnning too rich, as trying to start a hot/warm engine when rich is like giving it a little choke and wont help it start either.

its prob something else but its a little thing to check ?

Cheers dude, worth going down that road to check it as it is pickling my brain as to what it could be.
