it reely has. the lock and door mechs are as fiddly as anything and held to gether by little C clips to the lock. The window doesnt like coming out, doesnt like going back in either. The hinges are hell to line up; a 2 man job. and you have to keep changing the spacing on the hinges to make the door fit, each time jacking the car up and removing the wheel to access. The old nuts holding the old doors on will be rusty as hell; had to angle grind 2 off. absolute nightmare! sorry had to let steam off somewhere

Not sure about actually removing and replacing doors, but the locks and windows are easy enough to do! :proud:

Fair enough mate! We all have to do that sometimes, especially after working on the mini, starting with one project/problem and ending up with many more!

Funny how once its all done and finished, you can start smiling again and forget about all those thoughts of blowing up/selling the ruddy thing! lol

They can be a pain, did both of mine on my own, if your getting :proud: off doing something that isn’t going right, chill out for 5 min and walk away from it, then as soon as you come back to it with a clear mind it will go a lot easer.

Oh and one thing BEFORE you do anything when changing the doors, is take the hinge pin out first. I didn’t until I had undone the nuts under the wheel arch, only to open the door and find it didn’t lift straight off. Won’t be making that mistake twice. :proud:

i had a few problems with one of my hinges but a grinder soon sorted it ;D

i did mash the "A panel" (look under the red tape) but reshaped it with Milliput epoxy modeling putty
works wonders........

ive gotta change my door but have a serious case of previous owner. Some t0sser has welded a patch directly onto one of the nuts. The only way I can see to get it off is to grind it off. Has anyone successfully welded new studs into the hinge?

Has anyone successfully welded new studs into the hinge?

;D hi yes i have welded some bigger studs- bolts with the head cut off
what i did was to take the hinges of the doors cut the old studs of flat with the hinge, center punch the old stud and drill out to the size of a 5/16th threaded bolt and tapped it out then screwed in the bolt with a nut on, then weld the bolt to the hinge on the back ,cut the head of the bolt then unscrew the nut off and tidy the threads up with a file and then i drilled out the door hinge panel a bit bigger than the 5/16th bolt and then drill out the hinge plates a bit bigger as well, they work a treat plus you have a chance of getting them of again in the future instead of them snapping hope this helps and hope you understand everything ive said :-
