The mini 802 tempted me. Look for one with GPS as they're getting more and more cheaper. My insurance on one saved me 10%

As above, they've got deals on at the moment. Fitting is easy - I've hard wired all of mine into the cars. You could buy two of the cheaper ones without gps and hard wire them into your car's... just a thought as opposed to faffing.

The Nextbase 512 has GPS (£150 on ebay) and includes a polarizing filter to minimise reflections from dash top, works too. Hard wire kit is extra £10.

Mobius user here and love them. Perfect little cams to use as dashcams

I have the 412 model, I'd like to have the wiring in place but so I can remove the camera and mount, is this possible? Would it be easier to hard wire?
Hard wire kit is a doddle. Remove cigarette lighter fuse and plug in adapter, plug lighter fuse into adapter, connect earth terminal, run wire, plug into camera. Hardest bit is finding earth terminal so a self tapper is probably required. To remove camera, just unplug lead at camera and unclip camera from mount.
If you don't have a lighter fuse then it's probably easier to cut off the fuse adapter and wire to switched power supply. Don't cut off the dropper than converts the cars 12v to the cameras 5v.

They don't come with any mounts initially but can be purchased from eBay etc for couple quid. Firmware is updated often

Had two separate cheapies from eBay so far and both have been great. Each about £25 plus SD card.
Halford ones seem similar for a lot more money.

I don't think I want one as I usually cruise on main roads at something over the posted limit and I like to drive very quickly on back roads at night when there is little traffic. I certainly don't want a 'big brother' camera recording my driving.

If it's declared on your insurance then you have to have it working and provide evidence, if it's not declared it's up to you to disclose.

That sounds OK then. I have a Go-Pro, but that's not really what it is for. I use my Go-Pro in my gliders and get some super video. I've not used it in any of my cars.

I can't imagine not having dash cams now. Highly recommended IMO, especially with some of the drivers these days!!
