Lucas Gold is a coil which isn't pricey, I have had them fitted on my classics, no bother at all.

Define electronic ignition. Too many variants out there.

As Dusky said above what electronic ignition, worth mentioning I covered the Lucas Gold coils in the FAQs Electrical in a Coils post, due to the name Lucas now just being a trading name as they are no longer a company, and Minispares stopping the supply due to the large amount returned as faulty, I recommend the Intermotor MSC105 Gold Coil as a replacement which is made in their own factory in Europe and not the far east when the latest Lucas Coils come from, thats for a Standard 12v electronic setup.

With the Simon BBC and Aldon modules, I use the Bosch GT40 (NOT the R type).

Great reliable Coil without being silly.

However, as Dusty mentioned and you need to check, (if you have a set up already0) what Coil Resistances it's happy to work with.

I have tried Lucas Coils a few years back, the best I ever got from them was 3 months and the worst was 10 minutes.

I have a standard distributor (29d?) with an electronic module instead of points.

Will check with the supplier regarding ballast requirements.

Sounds like most people are using gt40 style can coils.

Thanks
