if i try and listen to MW on my radio i get feedback from the engine.. do i need a noise suppresor? how do you fit one?

there are a few types of supressor you can use, first is an in line one which goes between the + & - feeds to the radio, then there are the ones which fit to the sources of interference the main two being the alternator and the ignition coil. You can get suppresors for both of these at relatively low cost from any good motor factors (and they usually have instructions).
There are also different types of Ht leads you can get which will help. The coil and alternator suppressors i find work better as the in line ones are more of a filter, but you can always fit this as well.
Its also worth noting that bad earths and feeds can also add to interference. Always try to keep power wires, and ignition wires seperate, get a good earth on your radio, run any rca input cables (audio input cables for amps or cd changers) seperate to power cables.
