Hi All,

 

New to the forum. Recently purchased a 2004 mini cooper 1.6 petrol manual. Went for a drive yesterday and was slowing down. Put it back into 2nd gear and nothing, no power or drive. Feels like there is no gear there. Stopped and took off again in 1st, into 2nd and same issue. Into 3rd no problem, drove on and into 4th and again no gear there, gear stick just wobbling around. Drove car home with no 2nd or 4th gear. Got home and checked reverse and no reverse either.

 

To sum up 1st, 3rd & 5th gears working fine no noise or grinding. No 2nd, 4th or reverse and gear stick moves around a lot in the missing gears.

 

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.
