I'm looking for an original set of JCC 12*5 alloy wheels, in good condition.

These were sold as accessories to Cooperise 998 Minis for which a Cooper conversion kit was also available. This was just before the reintroduction of the 1275 Mini Cooper by Rover in 1990. They look similar to RSP wheels but painted white. I think John Cooper Garages planned to sell 500 of their own 30th anniversary edition with white roof and white wheels (Autocar and Motor, 14 June 1989; "The return of the white roof") but I am not sure how that worked out once the RSP became available soon after. A few appear at shows. I cannot find any mention of the anniversary edition in Chris Rees' new book "The Complete Mini Catalogue" and I cannot remember ever seeing the wheels coming on the market.

They're minilites aren't they? Why not just locate a set of the silver ones (going to be easier imo) and have them sprayed white?

THE ANORAC is the expert on this one.

It seems the Cooper Conversion Pack wheels were 12x5 (as opposed to the Rover 12x4.5).

Where would you find a set? :Behind the wisdom teeth of a chicken!

EDIT: As minidizzy pointed out these were NOT part of the Cooper Handling Pack but an Accessory so they might be found on any Mini.

yes the conversion wheels are stated at 12x5. normal rover minilights are 12x4.5

if you study the photos they do appear to be slightly different. can't remember if the mayfair cooper prototype had them on or not.

conversion cars are hard to find, the wheels are even harder. i would go with a set of rover ones painted white. the thing that sets the conversion ones off is the centre caps... if you can find them !!!!

here we go, this is the cooper conversion prototype. it started life as a Mayfair and yes it has the wheels.

they do seem to have a deeper dish to them and the centre seems to stick out more. the centre caps look like the picture below.

good luck in finding some :dontgetit:

if you do go for re-painted rover minilights remember there are the early type with stud holes in-line with the spokes and later type with stud holes between the spokes. early ones would look more like these. sometimes called RSP wheels but they were available on the racing/flame/checkmate and mini 30 first

to be honest, If I managed to find a set I would like to paint them silver with mini 30 centre caps, to keep people guessing, and keep the standard look. They also have the holes inline with the spokes, same as mini thirty, so should look standard to the untrained eye. :D
