I received an email from the organisers of Mini Festival regarding a new venue for 2017. This year it will be held at 3 locations. Brands Hatch / Oulten Park and now Snetterton

http://www.mini-festival.co.uk

The all-new weekend event on 13/14 May at Norfolks Snetterton will kick off the Mini Festival calendar. With its long straights, wide variety of turns and raised, panoramic spectator views, Snetterton is an ideal place to host the new event. This is followed by the legendary Brands Hatch circuit in Kent on 8/9 July with more Mini content than ever before lined up to keep you entertained, ahead of the final of our three events at Cheshires picturesque Oulton Park on 19 August.

On-track action will be solely devoted to Minis with headline action from the MINI Challenge, with support from Mini Se7ens, Mini Miglias and Pre-66 Minis. Additionally at Brands Hatch, the Mighty Minis and Super Mighty Minis will add even more pocket-sized fun to the programme. Exclusively across all three festivals, Minis of all shapes and sizes will also do battle on the track in a unique all-comers race billed as 'The fastest Mini in the world.

The Mini Festival series is a complete celebration of all things Mini not only with a superb race schedule but also a host of Mini-themed activities away from the circuit including club stands, trade village and much more to keep you entertained. From the classic Austin Mini of the late 1950s to its modern hatchback incarnation, all are welcome to join in the fun.

Mini clubs from across the UK and Europe are encouraged to showcase their pride and joy with the chance to take part in parade laps around the track. More than 50 clubs attended last years series and put on an amazing display for the festival visitors.

Is this a sole classic mini thing or will it be swamped by the overgrown piles of crap that call themselves MINI?

That ruined L2B for me with the amount of them on the run

To be fair it's always been for both types. It's a race meeting at the end of the day that they twin with a mini show. So it's all about getting people through the door. It clearly must be working if the organisers are able to have 3 shows in one year and in my opinion that's a good thing. There aren't many car makes that carry such popularity to enable 3 dedicated shows plus the numerous other independently run shows throughout the UK

Sounds good.

I just hope that they have the fastest mini in the world and pre 66 races at Oulton Park.

They had the pre 66 race there a few years ago, but the all comers race has never come, I know it's a trek but it's always listed on the website.

Maybe ruined for you......but most of the rest of us have no problem with MINI's and several on here, like me own both types of Mini/MINI......many Mini Shows especially the big events like Beaulieu would no longer be financially viable without the large numbers of New MINI's also paying for tickets at the gate now the daily driver classic Mini numbers are in decline......in fact the Beaulieu Mini Day is usually organised by a couple of MINI owners from within the MCR!

And here comes the BINI fan club. A little delayed I must admit but knew there would be a bite....

As with the many times its argued on here. Some people think the BINI is a mini (they're wrong) and others class them as completly seperate cars (which they are)

Let's just agree to disagree:)

I'll be going to the Oulton Park meet, was hoping that the track might have been open though.... :(

I don't mind the BINI, but I do wish their owners wouldn't class them in the same boat as the classic Mini...

They are built better, they don't tend to rust, but they also don't seem to be cared for as much as a classic is....

You get two 'parade' laps at the end of the day with the other spectator Minis.

If your clever though, you can hang back leaving enough space for fun, worked with me on the events first year..   ;D  :gimme:  :proud:

That's a shame, doesn't look like the classics are coming to Oulton Park for the Mini Festival this coming season :(
