Hi,
Forgive the dumb question...I've had to borrow this wrench and it's completly different to mine, I'm trying to torque up the clutch spring housing@ 22nm where approx should it be set? thank you.

as above not suitable for the job in hand.

Nowhere as it's not within the working range of the wrench.
Thanks... that probably explains why I was struggling.

If you use this one, you'll break the thread before you here the 'clic'.
You need a lower range torque-wrench as pointed out above.
Thank you, (goes off to buy new wrench)

it is (in my view) best to be using a torque wrench in the middle of its range rather than the extremes of it range.
calibration and checking is good.
also I always set the wrench and then check it works against a bolt in the vice.
just to check it clicks and get a feel for when it will click.

Confession time - I only use a torque wrench for head studs, main caps, and bigend caps.
Everything else done by feel. Has worked fine so far.

I use one of these:
https://www.machinem...uk/p/040215238/ and have these: https://www.machinem...et-adaptor-set/
A bit bulkier than a torque wrench but doesn't need re calibrating...just a new battery and the 4 piece adaptor set means I can use pretty much any ratchet or socket size.
Doesn't go to 22nm though.
