My clutch started slipping on hard acceleration yesterday. The engine is a 1275 verto with 190mm clutch plate. The plate has done about 2000 miles so it's either the cover (which I hadn't replaced, no idea how old) or oil seal leakage. Been looking on Minispares and Bullmotif for complete kits and it is confusing.

MS list CK9378 or GCK152MS (AP) and BM list GSK2123Z (3rd party) or GCK2123AF (genuine).

Are all these kits using the same cover and centre plate, just different brands?

Anyone have any info on the Bullmotif 3rd party assembly?

Does the assembly have to be rebalanced on the flywheel (off engine)?

When balancing to the flywheel is metal taken off the cover plate or the flywheel? My flywheel is already balanced to the crank etc.

on a verto you balance the assy together as they are both quite heavy.

ideally you would balance with crank and damper but not possible in this case. so flywheel and spring cover should be balance together.

Thanks Nick, so do they take the weight off the cover plate so as not to screw up the already balanced flywheel?

Just a stab in the dark, however I assume they'd remove the material from the cover plate

like I said it should be balanced as an assy. your flywheel is not balanced. your assy is balanced. so it depends on how it was done before.

as the verto flywheel has no center............
