Help With Dimension Please

Best Answer MGMiniman , 28 February 2017 - 05:35 PM

Further update.

I now have both types of pedal unattached to a car to look at.

There is no difference between the two except the size of the clevis pin (hole).

Non servo pedal is 3/8" - Servo type pedal is 1/2"

Early servo'ed car had the operating push rod from the pedal to the servo permanently fixed with a non removable clevis pin.

Later servo'ed cars had a traditional removable 1/2" clevis pin and therefore a separate operating rod.

So answering my own question a non servo pedal assembly can be used to operate a bulkhead servo if a suitable operating rod is made with the appropriate clevis pin forks on each end. The only other issue is to cut off the end of the pedal return spring as this is catered for on the servo itself.

If somebody has a car in bits can they measure the length of the rod between the brake pedal and the servo ( Bulkhead mounted type ). The length between the centres of the clevis pins. This rod is usually permanently fixed to the brake pedal with a non removable clevis pin at the pedal end. It has a rubber bellows on it to seal it through the bulkhead.

Thanks in advance.

I take it you can't simply open the hole out to 1/2" and use the later clevis pin?

(I must admit I thought all the in-line servo pedals had the fixed pin in the pedal and a removable pin in the bell crank - that's certainly what the parts books say)

The servo cars have the removable bell crank clevis pin....

Fixed pin at pedal end
