Hello All,

I will be in London for work in the next couple of weeks, and will be staying in the Central London area. I'll have time over the weekend to see local sights, and would love to see if I could check out anything Classic Mini related in the area. Did some Google searches, and it hasn't turned up much.

Please let me know if you have any advice.

Ya, I saw the Classic Mini tours, but it didn't seem worth it.

Not much else Mini related, there's one sawn in half in the Science Museum. All the big, free museums are well worth a visit anyway. You could pop off an email to the local owners' clubs, they might have something going on. Wood & Picket are a bit out of town, but may be worth a trip if you're after doing some shopping too. Gaydon & Beaulieu are further still, but both doable for a day out.

Thank you for the info. I am definitely planning on going to the museums. I figured there was a small chance of something being classic mini related outside of the museums. The only time that I will have available is the 24th, 25th, and part of the 26th, otherwise it would be great to check out the Ace Cafe Meets. In the USA, we don't have any sort regular Mini meets outside of the car shows and club meetings.

The London Classic Car Show is on from 23rd to 26th February. There are usually a few minis there.

Apart from LSMOC's mid-month breakfast runs the mini season does not really get going until the end of winter with Brooklands Mini Day on 19th March.

Thank you   Looks like it might be close enough to check out. Is it a good show, or mostly just hype?

I think it is a good show but everyone has there own likes and dislikes. There can be some spectacular cars on display. Last year they had the Lamborghini Miura from the Italian Job. The 2015 show was particularly good for Minis. James May had a mk I Austin in a special display of ground-breaking cars. Celebrity chef and car collector James Martin ran a café with his Minis on display. Formula One designer Adrian Newey had a family Cooper S from his childhood. Small Car Big City had some of the cars they use for tours in London and they will be back this year. Also this year television's Classic Car Show presenter Quentin Willson is featuring four classic cars he thinks are smart buys. He is a known mini fan and owner of a 1959 Austin Se7en but there is no guarantee that will be there.

It really depends how interested you are in all types of classic cars. Minis will just be few of many.
