My dad is handing down his project mini to me to use, and generally hug and be called "Monty".

It's a 1977 GT with the standard front end (Not the oblong clubman type) and is currently in the garage getting a new coat of nightfire red :)

However... He's managed to get a pair of 2002 Peugeot 206 GTI seats in the front. They're ok, and comfortable (Far more than what was originally in there apparently) but they seem big and the door-pockets have had to come out because of them. Not to mention the poor attempt to re-stain the seats black (But I can do that myself if needs be)

If I replaced them, I was wondering what the best seats to have would be? I was thinking along the lines of a pair of Cobra Recliners, as seen at huddersfield spares, as they may actually fit better inside the car.

What are everyone's thoughts? Ditch the 206 seats in favour of a new set? Get something second-hand that would fit better (Not necessarily meant for a mini, like a pair of MX5 seats)??

It'll be quite a while before I get my own grubby paws on it, but forewarned is fore-armed ;)

P

The choice of seat depends upon your build i.e. are you a fat bloater or thin as a rake or....?

The best seats... Well what I think are the best seats are the Cobra Misano Lux...

It also depends on how much you are willing to spend.  There are plenty of other Cobra seats out there that are far cheaper than the Misano Lux and will be spot on for the job.

I am personally having recaro hans spg bucket seats as I feel they are best suited for my needs. It all depends on the look of the mini and your body build.

Nah, The BEST seats are some classic old school Recaros.

Exhibit A.

Extremely comfy, give you more support and make you feel safer than any woman ever could. Red ones would match the red paint lovely!

62S... While not round, like some, and not Carrot shaped, like others, I won't have any problems (At the moment  ) with fitting in a standard seat. By comparison to many males, I'm barely outside the upper range of a "Small person" so it doesn't really matter. Some of my friends, however, (Who thankfully don't frequent this forum) might find some figure hugging bucket seats a little uncomfortable.

Orange-Phantom... The Misano-Lux aren't really my cup of tea. The Le Mans on the other hand definitely are! Thanks for the link, it's going in my special "Mini" links folder ☺

Magic-Jason... Hmm.... I smell salesman?

What is rear seat access like? Iv got a pair of Porsche boxtster seats in mine, SUPER comfy but literally no chance of getting in the back. Desperate to get access to back seats for family outings but can't afford the outlay of new seats :-(

Would be ok except i'm tall (6'4") as well as being built for comfort not speed

lol there's no chance I'm getting in the back, but as long as I can throw a kid in the back and reach over to belt them up, that's enough access for me :-P
