hi i have some Questions about throttle body and Programable ECU, im  tunning my spi

engine

1310cc

1.5

light flywheel

stage 4 head cylinder dry deck

my first question its about camshaft between 274i and sw5-07 my first choosen it´s sw5 but im not sure if this camshaft its good with low emission like kent 274i because on website of sw5 there is 2 model sw5-07 sw5-07 mpi (i supposed for the sensor... or if this also for low emisión or the normal camshaft??? i can use it for spi??)

The other question its abaout

1 throttle-body ----> Kit specialist-components (bi-injectors) PLug and play... 45-50mm?

2 throttle-body ----> Canems,

do you think there will be a big diference more fuel echonomy?? more power?? 1-2bhp??

My mini have air-con... i read spi kit have sensor for aircon canems i dont know...

I always think exhaust mainflow freeflow (3-2-1) will be better than lcb with the "Y" part but all exhaust for mini injection uses last one? why?

or dont change ecu and use one for metro gta (i dont know air-con problems?) with a bigger injector Rover 1.4K16SPi

thanks

The mini its for Street!

I have the specialist Componants throttle body kit and I can't recommend it enough! Solved so many problems and the car goes so well! I had the sw5 in mine and passed emmisions with no problem

The lobes will be the same. However one won't have the dizzy grub gear and have a can position lobe instead.

Theoretically a tuned megasquirt or canems with 2 throttle Will get better performance that a SC?

On my previous set up I had the mpi sw5 now in my rebuilt engine 1330 I have the sw8 producing 95hp and 88 ftp, I run a race exhaust manifold 3-1 and the lambda is in the collector

For example im talking about this

http://www.canems.co...udy/1380inj.php

This system Will be better? Than SC MPI kit, i know Will be harder mount but, are We talking about a big difference in fuel economy greater torque or not worth it

That kit is a mash up of different parts the sc kit comes with everything ready to go, I can't see that kit performing any better over the sc kit, it's all down to what engine parts used i.e. Head etc and ofcourse the mapping, the only benefit to the other kit is potentially price?

Yes SC Its a complete kit, canems its only a ECU, but these are differents system with sc throttle body you are sharing both inlet ports (the good point it has 2 injectors) with canems you can put 2 throttles body one per each inlet... I dont know if the benefit Will be better or similar (fuel economy, power...) For example you can put a standard mpi system with a bigger throttle 52mm or 2 independent SC THROTTLE 40MM for that i think It Will better... obviusly if its similar SC Will be the best option less headache... For that i asking

Bigger throttle body doesn't necessarily mean more power.

the SW5 and 274i both have similar lift on overlap so should be similar in terms of emisions, however you will get better performance form the 274i

It's all speculative I see your point about having two throttle bodies but if we use the equivalent argument when it comes to a single carb and twin carbs, twin carbs do not necessarily give more power a single hif can compete with twins it's all in the tuning, sc put a lot of development into their products I'm sure if they found a better solution they would have, all I can say is I have the kit on mine it performs extremely well on the road, if you go down the route of amalgamating parts from different sources A - it won't look as trick as the sc kit and B - your guesstimating as to how the kit will perform you might not see the results

It's a recipe yes the carburation/fuel injection plays a big part but the head, cam etc plays just as big a role to power

Of course the head and cam are the most important but we are talking always with the dame performance un both system

I would say it's negligible on a like for like basis over both systems purely on how they work, it's the tuning that will see the benefits on one over the other
