The car was lying up over winter and there's no fuel getting to the carb now when I turn it over. Just wondering how to go about troubleshooting this? Don't know if it's a mechanical or electric fuel pump.

Take the air filter off and put a couple of teaspoons of petrol down the carb inlet elbow. If it starts then the should be enough time for the pump (if it's a mechanical one) to pull fuel through. Another trick is to 'super choke' the carb by putting the palm of your hand over the carb inlet while you crank the engine, this will produce a vacuum and hopefully pull the fuel through.

Going to show just how much of a noob I am now and ask you to confirm that this is the elbow you're talking about? I'd rather ask a stupid question than do something stupid because I was too proud to ask :D 20170313_142225.jpg
