At the moment I've got a centre binnacle speedo has anyone tried to adapt it to work with a conversion??

The problem is its easier to convert a cable driven engine to electric speedometer . They don't really make anything to go the other way as far as I know. 

 

I have seen that Smiths makes a center speedometer for minis that is programmable for a electronic speed sensor.

This may work for you.  This has peaked my interest now as I am going for the sleeper look and could do away with the R1 clocks.  

 

I am going to some research and let you know what I find out.

Thanks for the reply good to know the smiths one looks great I'm also going with a standard look and really don't want the r1 dials I'm will also explore this idea I think

Awesome just spoke to digital speedos they said it's a direct replacement with the speedo working on either a magnet on the wheel or a gps device... so in theory could work well.... perhaps a standalone rpm guage or even hide the r1 clocks

Smiths made the original gauges im pretty sure. Im looking to see if the Fuel injected engine can run without the clocks

Same here looking to keep the standard look.. purchased the smiths digital speedo and installation was straight forward looks awesome and works great for the magnet speed sensor
