fitted a new rad the other week. but hav noticed the water seems to keep getting lower only just to below the grate thingy, and i keep refilling it to the top of the wire bridge. i cant find any leaks anywhere, and my temperature is always normal. could it just be comin out the over flow???

Whats the oil like on your dipstick, is it ere oil coloured or milky/cloudy looking? Well if it's milky/cloudy it probably means your head gaskets gone and the water is getting at the oil.

Well so long as it isn't dropping any lower than the grate thingy, don't worry too much and just keep an eye on it and top up every week or so. This is what we did on my sisters Mini Mayfair and i've heard tell that it's just the force of the system pushing some of the water/anti-freeze out of the over flow.

If it is dropping lower, then you must have a leak somewhere?

could just be air locks working them selves out. i had this happen. put El gordo in the garage. came back next day. checked the rad and it had dropped a fair bit. no leaks just had. no water in the oil. just an airlock had bubbled out.

i keep getting it dude i found one way to solve it is, turn ur heater on in the car on hot, leave the rad cap off and start the car till its warm, just let it tick over, then if the water goes down just top it up to where it should be, that will cancle out an airlock i have to do it a lot, keep getting airlocks for some reason?!?!?!?!?!?!
