I've replace the original plastic washer jets with chrome Ines however the hole where they go is bigger than the jet however they do tighten up okay but the rubber hose that connects to the botom seems to be to big , is there a conversion kit that is need to make life simpler or is it just replace hoses and find rubber washers to sit the jets on ?

You might find the original pipe has widened overtime and gone hard. Cut about 8-10mm off the pipe and try refitting to the jet.

There's not enough pipe to do that I don't think , there connected by a T piece and the two bits are just long enough to reach the jets

Go to your local aquarium/pet shop and buy some airline tubing for the air pumps they use for aerating aquariums, you can buy as much or as little as you wish and it is very cheap, you can then submerge it in hot water ( take care ) which will make it easier to fit to your tee and jets, it is fine for water with screen wash mix, i have had it on mine for years.
