My 1990 Mini Mayfair will not accelerate without bogging down and dying. It is burning very rich and only runs when the choke is engaged once choke is pushed in it dies. If I use the throttle at all it bogs down and dies with some popping out the carb. When I pull the spark plugs out they are black and wet plus smells like gas. With spark plugs out to check spark they spark but the spark seems weak. This all started after shipping the car from Japan to Spain then getting fuel, is it possible bad fuel could cause this? I asked around no one else seems to have issues with the gas where I got it from.
Work done so far:
In October I replaced the following distributor cap, rotor, coil, points, condenser, spark plug wires, and air filter.
This month I replaced the fuel pump, float, float jets, spark plugs, and fuel filter.
Rebuilt carburetor to include waxstat replacement, cleaned dash pot, serviced the dash pot oil.
I have checked all vacuum lines, valve clearances, timing, dwell time, point gaps, there is 6 volts at the coil, the new coil ohms out at 1.5, the old coil ohms out at 3 however when I put old coil back in it has no effect on it.
I have not replaced the jet needle in the dash pot yet, although I ordered a new one just waiting on it to come in.
