Mini 1998 MPI
Hi I've got FSE Fuel boost regulator with no fitting instructions,I think I have nearly worked it out how to fit it but I'm stuck on fitting the fuel return pipe to the tank.At the end of the fuel rail there's a fitting that the return pipe comes from do I cut into that pipe and somehow block the end of the fuel rail and then connect the return to the FSE regulator or have I completely got it wrong and this makes no sense whatsoever
Thanks

There should be an adapter that replaced the current fuel pressure regulator. You install that then put a pipe from the adapter to the FSE. The return underneath the FSE then goes to the return pipe on the car. The sensor pipe that went to the top of the old fuel pressure regulator then goes to the top of the FSE. Hey presto! Then go get it set up. If you don't, you risk the car running lean, causing it to over heat and burn valves, or over fuel and cause bore wash. Either will destroy your engine.

How do you join the pipe that's under the FSE to the fuel return to the tank ,The return pipe to the tank goes from the end of the fuel rail with a fitting do I cut it off
Thanks

Remove the fitting and you'll get a normal pipe end

If you remove the two screw that hold that pipe attachment then the whole thing will pull away from the fuel rail. There is an o ring that sits in a groove on the inside of the rail that forms a tight seal. And yes some fuel will come out if there is fuel in the rail

Does this help? Not written using a mini engine but the logic is the same

http://www.v8engines...rboostvalve.pdf

My kit also came with no instructions but the way I have it is the fuel feed hose (orange) stays untouched and connects to the RH side of the fuel rail (looking at the engine).
The fuel return hose (green connector on the bulkhead) is disconnected at fuel rail (LH end) and the bulkhead and is no longer required. Your kit should have a blanking plug for the end of the fuel rail. You now need to run and new pipe from the black port on the top left of the fuel rail (under the air filter) to the boost valve and another new pipe from the boost valve to the return fuel pipe on the bulkhead. Finally a vacuum pipe runs from the boost valve to manifold

Thanks for your help I had the feed and return colours mixed up I thought green was feed and red was return ,looks like I am still missing a blanking plate for the return feed at the end of fuel rail I will give them a ring tommorow
Thanks again Lee

you shouldn't need a blanking plate at the end. The replacement valve on my Cooper S kit blocked off that end.

In my video somewhere

Thanks Lee
