Does anyone make one in tin that will clear the chain without a lot of modification?

I know DSN makes a lovely aluminum one .....but £165!

I was hoping someone knew of a tin one that would work.

I'm running a Vernier adjustable cam gear, that seems to be the main problem with mine.....

I was under the impression that the duplex chain sat closer to the block ,(That is why you need to change the bolts for countersunk screws) and will generally clear the existing cover.

Mini spares have a note on their timing chain covers, which says,"If fitting with duplex timing gears the metal indent by the oil seal will need tapping out to stop fouling on the chain. The plate on the inside should not foul but check for clearance.Always check for fan blade clearances".

All the factory covers will clear duplex chain sets, including those with the Vernier Sprockets, though one or two of them do need small modification(s), the dimple as Compdoc has pointed out and some have an Oil Deflector that needs to be removed.

Well I went ahead and removed the oil deflector and pressed out the small dimple, the cover fits just fine now - but the oil deflector was definitely rubbing on the Vernier sprocket....thanks for the feedback and comments!
