Hi,
I just want to confirm the size of my engine block, it was purchased as a 1380.
I've measured the bores with digital callipers and it reads as 74mm / 2.9"
Would that be correct for a 1380?
Many thanks.

1380 would be a 73.5mm bore (on standard stroke).
What are the pistons stamped as?

Many thanks guys. It's me being a non-engineer and Aldi digi callipers. It's pretty much 73.5.
No pistons, it's a bare block that was being used to build up, but my retired Dad spent some winter evenings in his garage working on my 1380 MED so I'm going to stick this one and a standard 12G940 on eBay ;o)

Standard 12G940 might be a little wheezy. At least grind out the valve guide bosses and smooth it or something.

I'm not using the the standard 12G940, I've got a stage 3 MED head, the standard on is surplus to requirement, so selling it with the spare 1380 block, or might just sell them separately seeing as they're not much use together without some work.

Standard 12G940 might be a little wheezy. At least grind out the valve guide bosses and smooth it or something.
