Hello,

I need to remove my carb and replace the jet as it seems to be leaking.

I have never removed a carb before and am struggling at the first hurdle. How do you remove the 2 cables?

I can't get any purchase on the throttle cable when trying to release the nut?

Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks

It would help to know which type of carburettor you have. On some, the throttle outer cable just sits in a bush on the mounting bracket, the inner passes through that and is clamped into a loose pin with a small bolt in the end. The pin should have a hex head so it can be held.

The choke cable outer is often clamped to its plate by a U or P clip and its inner again has a hex headed pin with small clamping screw.
