Few questions about updating current wiring, as you can see the current state.

So going by the wiring diagram here - http://www.minimania...Fs/wiring16.pdf

From 19 (fuse block)

Greens =

36 - windscreen wiper switch

25 - Flasher Unit

18 - Stop Lamp Switch

115 - Rear Window Demister Switch

37 - Windscreen Wiper Motor

I have measured the *Outside Diameter of the green wires 2.5mm

Browns Outside Diameter = 3mm

If i were to buy old type wiring from here - https://www.autoelec.../66/category/11

Then 2.6mm *OD (Outside Diameter) would be 8.75A

My questions are -

1) The rear window demister switch is a Amp draw of 10-20, depending on the element (according to this post http://www.theminifo...trical-circuit/ Is this correct and should I upgrade that circuit for higher amps.

2) Does anyone have wiring diagrams showing cable thickness on each circuit, if not this would be extremely handy for a lot of people (project for someone maybe).

3) I plan to go the Thin Wall cable route with the whole car, would it be overkill to fit 28/0.30, 2.0mm², 25.0A - cable OD 2.7mm in place of the green cables from the fuse block or would 32/0.20, 1.0mm², 16.5A - cable OD 2.0mm be enough.

4) I want the whole car to be 100% any advice on other circuits using Thin Wall cable from here

Many thanks in advance for reading and advice as always.

I did check before posting even run a forum search before posting.

0.5mm 16/0.20mm Thin Wall Cable
Nominal Current Rating: 11.0 amps Side and tail lights, horn etc

1.0mm 32/0.20mm. 16.5 amps.Side and tail lights,horn etc

2.0mm 28/0.30mm Thin Wall Cable.
Nominal Current Rating: 25.0 amps Head Lamps and Driving Lamps

3.0mm 44/0.30mm Thin Wall Cable.
Nominal Current Rating: 33.0 amps 30-30 amp meters etc

4.5mm 65/0.30mm Thin Wall cable.
Nominal Current Rating: 42.0 amps

6.0mm 84/0.30mm Thin Wall Cable
Alternator circuits etc.
Nominal Current Rating: 50.0 amps Alernator x2 strands and uprated ammeter circuit

------------------------------------------------------------

1) Rear Window Demister Switch not listed.

2) Windscreen Wiper not Listed.

I can only assume that the rear demister (10-20Amps) it would be ok to use 25amps rated 2.mm but you know the saying about assumption, hence the reason to clarify before real money is spent.

There is also a post in there with what amps each component draws in amps http://www.theminifo...trical-circuit/

The wiper motor is listed there, rule of thumb has always been amps draw + 30% on the cable size
