Hi all,

1st of all sorry if my english is bad (I'm french).

With my girlfriend, we have our new Mini Cooper S Cabrio for 1 week now.

We had a misunderstanding during the configuration of our vehicule with the seller.

Who choosed the Automatic Sport Gear and I aksed if I could change, with this gearbox, the way to drive (on youtube I saw some people who changed the driving mode : green / mid / sport), and he said YES.

When we received our new car, I saw that it's impossible to change the driving mode : it was an option (290 euros), I can only put the Sport mod, putting the gearbox on the left (that the way the seller understood my question).

So now we are talking about how fix the problem (I REALLY REALLY want this option).

I called Mini France, they said it's impossible to install the driving mode now.

I'm really surprised, we are in 2017 and they tell me they can't install an 290 euros option ?

Can you help me ?

Thanking you in adance.

On internet I just saw this link, is it a joke ? :

Good afternoon,

Firstly this is a forum for the older type mini owners (before BMW generally)

but I will give you question a go.

Its likely that at the factory that was an option yes but that the dealer will not be interested in retrofitting it.

I suggest you look online at reviews for the website that you linked to however it does look fairly genuine. And if reviews are all good contact them and see what help they can give you

Lawrence

:ohno: This the good forum, for the good(est) Mini  :P

It may be a factory fitted option, the 290 Euros might be the difference between the parts needed and what are on your car, not the full cost of the fancy new parts you'd need, or the time to remove the old parts and replace them.

Then again, they may be after fleecing you for some software they could have installed for the same cost as standard. If you wanted some fancy frippery on your real Mini, like a radio or more than one mirror, you got exactly what you paid for.
