[MiniBGT]

I am fitting a pair of LEX door mirrors to a MK2 saloon, they were purchased from MiniSpares.  I am unclear where the base should be fitted and why the instruction leaflet indicates that for a BL Mini the extra chrome plinth is needed.  Should it be mounted where I am holding it in the picture, the screws would then possibly hit the sliding window rail, or should it be mounted on the hatched area?  Is that why you need the extra plinth?  Thanks.
