I've got a Smiths RVI 1000/16 rev counter (pics attached of the front and back) that I want to use in my Mk3 mini (still on points).  I was just wondering if anyone could advise me on which gauge electrical cable(s) to use for the impulse loop, 12v feed and earths?

Thanks in advance.

Baz

IIRC there is a bullet type connector taped up at the back of the gauges that is fed from the coil, specifically for a rev counter for the impulse... the rest of the wiring will be illumination, switched live and earth... that should be it....

I cant help you with the colours though...

Thanks for the info guys, but my question (probably badly phrased) was which gauge, ie thickness or rating, of electrical wire/cable should I use to make the various connections? Specifically, what amps rating should I opt for when buying new cable?

Small gauge wiring is fine like 1.0mm 32/0.20mm.

OK thanks Dave, so that'd be ~16.5A thin wall cable, correct?
