Hi

I have an unfitted Avonbar Competition Head - 11 stud design - Isky double valve springs - with a stamp 20.5cc .70

37/31mm valves

My mini is currently a rebuilt 1310cc with piper bp255 cam single hf44  - lcb manifold - aldon non vac distributor - centre cap strap bearings - and currently a metro head.

Does anyone know what the head compares to against the current Avonbar offerings and what improvements would it offer over the MG Metro head if I fitted it ?

Does your engine need 20.5cc chamber to give the correct Compresion ratio?

Bigger valves and mod likely a well flowed head.

How will it do on your engine it depends it might be great or it might be no good at all.

You need to do some measuring or find out from the engine bulider what CC head is suitable.

Thanks Nick

I do have a note of the compression ratio with the avonbar head on somewhere - I will dig it out.

My friend who built the engine was worried that it was too high CR and replaced it with the current metro head.

I have another 9 stud 12G295 head with same size valves, ported and polished  and wasted valve stems on the shelf too which was rebuilt but never put on the engine.

All the best !

Matt
